New Video: Henchman Frank – The Fade
Henchman Frank of the up and coming Ottawa hip hop collective KINGsCOLLEGE has released a new video for his single “The Fade”. The track was released a couple of months ago and produced by fellow KC members Mystère, Archie and TBSW.
Local artist Saru directed and shot the video, which offers a stunning, cinematic look at Ottawa as well as scenes from Kill Bill Vol. 1 – Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren. The video is divided into two parts, just as the song is. This isn’t something that is seen often, and offers a unique take on traditional hip hop. The first half is sexy and reverb-laden, and has a more restrained R&B feel to it. Suddenly it cuts to Henchman Frank lighting a cig to an off-beat with his in-your-face vocals coming in somewhat more vigorously. After this, we’re pretty excited to see what else these guys have in store.
