New Video: “Plumtree” by Weed Mom
Ottawa’s new kids on the block, Weed Mom, recently released their first video as a band for their song “Plumtree”.
The five-piece’s video reminds me of a high school band practice featuring hair cuts, walks in nature, and jumping on a bed… ah memories of the good ol’ days. You know those practices where you almost always did other fun things more than practice, because you were amongst friends first and foremost. All of this is takes place while “Plumtree” takes you on a shoegaze and dreampop kind of jaunt about listening to a Canadian all-female indie power pop band from the ’90s or maybe channelling nature’s vibrations through a tree. Either way this is a great start for the group.
Weed Mom just played House of TARG‘s first ever all ages show on May 27th and are playing Ottawa Explosion Weekend later in June. The band also went into the studio earlier this month, so hopefully there will soon be a demo of recorded material for our listening pleasure.
