The video for Owen Davies‘ “Medicine Man” off his forthcoming LP Mystic is hereby released! The first single of the new folk solo project by Davies comes with a colourful video that won third place at the Ottawa International Film Festival Music Video Challenge in October.
Davies takes to the video in two different sexes, making merry while flirting and partying with himself. “Why are you worried for me?” he sings with the saddest basset hound eyes you’ve ever seen. He’s either struggling with his feminine side’s penchant for red wine or trying to sew his psyche back together. The music video flirts with a disaster that’s a strong undertone throughout the whole track.
Pop Drone have also released the next Owen Davies single “Jerusalem” on their 2015 label sampler. Both electro folk tracks by the Ottawa ex-pat are available for PWYC download on the local label’s bandcamp. Mystic will be released this spring.
